A whole list of suggestions
1) Would it be possible to order responses to a survey by date OR alphabetically so that new responses can easily be located? Having it only as alphabetically makes it difficult to identify new responses and this will only become more of a problem when there are more responses.
2) Would it be possible to create a 'zoom to layer' function for the areas created in a survey? Because some people are concerned about very small areas (dolphinariums etc.) it can be very difficult to find their area of concern when looking at a map of the whole world.
3) We are concerned that people who don't come from a technical background will have difficulty understanding the instructions of how to actually draw the polygon, so we were wondering if it would be possible to have more user-friendly instructions on the 'Create a new Polygon' box. We have drafted the following instructions and have placed them in the description of the tool, but it is a large chunk of text and as soon as a user selects 'add polygon' our simplified instructions disappear.
"INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Click and drag to use your cursor to centre the map on your area of concern, then use the + and - buttons in the top left corner to zoom in or out. 2) When satisfied with the field of view, click on the "add polygon' button and begin drawing your map. 3) Click on the map to mark each corner of the shape you want to draw and double click when finished. 4) Select 'save sketch' when finished. 5) If you would like to edit the shape once it has been drawn, select the shape and click 'edit' then 'edit geometry'. You will then be able to adjust the corners of your shape to change their size or position. When satisfied with your map, select 'done editing geometry', and save your sketch. 6) To delete a shape that you have already saved, select the shape and select the 'delete' option. 7) If you would like to add a second Area of Concern you must save your first area and then add a new polygon."
Our worry is that if the instructions aren't spelled out precisely then people might get confused and give up as not everyone is accustomed to using mapping software.
4) Would it be possible to say 'Full name' instead of just 'name' in the initial question of a survey to avoid confusion?
5) Would it be possible to make the boxes in which you can edit the 'about this page' info, the introduction, and the thank you larger? I've occasionally struggled to organize the text because I couldn't see it all at the same time.
6) This is not critical, but we were wondering if it would be possible to send an automated email to people who complete the survey to thank them and give them more info about the project? If not then we can send a weekly email to all the new responses, but it might be handy to create such a feature.
7) Similarly not urgent but would be helpful. Is there a way to link this to Facebook or other social media so that people can post on their wall that they've completed 'so and so' survey thereby making people they know aware of it and increasing the number of people who take the survey.
Sorry for the big list!
Thank you very much,
Laura

You can definitely zoom to a response created in a survey (question #2 above) by simply double-clicking on the individual response. This may not be intuitive so we're considering what kind of affordance we could develop to make it more obvious. Thanks!
