How do I add data sources to my project?

Data are added to SeaSketch by administrators. Administrators must access the Project Dashboard, click the Data Layers tab (and the Data Layers sub-tab), and choose "Add > Data".

In the dialog box, paste the URL of the map service that you wish to add. A typical map service may look like this: http://egisws02.nos.noaa.gov/ArcGIS/rest/services/OUA/CA_Ocean_Uses_Atlas/MapServer

Note: Do not use individual feature services associated with a map service. Paste in the entire map service URL then select the feature services you wish to include / exclude.

You may also select the specific service type you wish to add, which will prompt SeaSketch to request additional parameters that may be relevant to that service type.

For example, after selecting the WMS button above, you will receive the below prompt:

If you select ESRI Dynamic Map Service, you will be given the below prompt, which will not require additional parameters:

After clicking the "Search" button in the Add a Layer dialog box, you may toggle some layers on/off to choose which ones you want to include in your SeaSketch project.

Once you click "Add Selected Layers to Map" you will see them in your layer tree. Note that end users will not see data until you have clicked the "Publish Changes to Users" button. Before publishing layers, ensure that they are configured as you want (e.g., under the right header, in the right folder, opacity set, turned on/off as appropriate).
